When disco diva Deloris Van Cartier witnesses a murder, she is put in protective custody in one place the cops are sure she won’t be found: a convent! Despite clashes with the strict Mother Superior and the convent’s lifestyle, Deloris uses her disco moves and singing talent to revitalize the choir and community. However, in doing so, blows her cover, leading to a showdown with the pursuing gang, only to find them up against Deloris and the power of her newly found sisterhood.
