Blanche DuBois, a former schoolteacher, arrives in New Orleans to stay with her sister Stella and Stella’s husband Stanley Kowalski. Blanche is broke, her family’s plantation has been lost, and she has suffered a series of personal tragedies. Blanche tries to hide her troubled past from Stanley, but he is suspicious of her and begins to uncover the truth.
